Cursor, Bolt and Replit projects to WordPress: an expert review
How an IT expert moves Vite and React apps built with Cursor, Bolt or Replit into a fast, maintainable WordPress website.

Why AI-coded apps need a different migration approach
Cursor, Bolt and Replit produce real codebases. They are often Vite projects with React, a router, a component library and sometimes a small server. Unlike a page builder, there is no export button that creates WordPress content. The site exists as a JavaScript bundle that builds the page in the browser.
For WordPress the goal is to keep what visitors see, not the build pipeline. That means turning rendered screens into editable pages and turning the visual system into a theme that runs without Node.js.
Client-side rendering and search engines
Many Vite apps render everything in the browser. The initial HTML is almost empty until JavaScript runs. Search engines can execute JavaScript, but it is slower and less reliable, especially for multilingual sites. Moving to WordPress gives you server-rendered HTML for every page by default: the title, text, canonical and language attribute are present in the very first response.
This is one of the strongest technical reasons to migrate content-focused projects. Indexing becomes more predictable and each page clearly identifies itself.
Separating presentation from functionality
An expert migration starts with an inventory. List every public page, every component that appears on more than one page and every feature that depends on code: forms, search, user accounts, payments, dashboards. Presentation moves into WordPress pages, reusable patterns and the theme. Functionality is rebuilt with plugins or kept as a separate service that WordPress links to or embeds.
This separation prevents the most common mistake: expecting a converter to recreate backend logic. Converters handle pages and design; dynamic features are a separate, well-defined step.
Assets, fonts and performance
Images move into the media library, where WordPress generates responsive sizes automatically. Fonts can be self-hosted from the theme for privacy and speed. Remove scripts that only existed for the old framework; a converted page rarely needs a large JavaScript bundle. A caching plugin and an image optimisation plugin usually bring scores in line with, or better than, the original app.
Hosting and ownership
After migration the site runs on any standard PHP host. There is no dependency on a specific AI platform, preview environment or build service. Backups, staging and updates follow familiar WordPress workflows, which makes the site easier to hand over to colleagues or an agency.
Expectations after conversion
A one-click conversion delivers the pages, text, images and layout. Backends are not converted, and small glitches such as a spacing difference or a simplified animation are normal. They can be adjusted afterwards in the editor, often with a single plugin, without touching code.
